Installations Engineer - Fulton, NY

Be an active participant in Davis-Standard Installations & Commissioning team process. Obtain initial work scope details by coordination with other Davis-Standard departments and Vendors. Design mechanical work scope drawings for contractor installation (over-lay on General Arrangement), prepare contractor Bid Packages, provide field installation problem resolution, and provide various support to on-site field personnel and others, as needed. Responsibilities: •Create mechanical designs for contractor installation & commissioning: ◦Pipe routing, for various fluids, drawings with details for size, supports, materials, and notes. ◦Pipe Insulation drawing with details for materials, locations, and notes. ◦Ductwork drawing with details for materials, locations, and notes. ◦Build a ‘Bill of Materials’ for Anchor Bolts, shims, and other installation materials. •Issue Engineering releases. •Create Mechanical Contractor Bid Packages that include drawings, contractor specifications, schedule, and issue to bidders with cover letter. Address bidder’s questions and consolidate bids onto spreadsheet. •Follow up on Contractor Specifications requirements to confirm that conditions are being met. •Provide Field Support to on-site D-S personal and contractors with resolutions to field issues and log response. •Provide summary of updates to Installation Manager on regular basis, as well as Project Manager. •Be an active participant and attend meetings that include topics such as: Installation Work Scope, Schedule coordination, Design review, Assembly review, Shipping review, Pre-project review, post-project review, project close out, and Lessons Learned. •Develop culture for efficiency, productivity, cost-reduction of equipment installation. •Keep organized files in Job Folder. •Take on responsibility for other tasks that may be assigned by the Installations Manager.   Skills/Requirements: •Two year degree in Engineering required.  Four year degree in Engineering preferred.  Other degrees will be considered.  •Overtime as necessary to ensure project needs are met •Good communication skills (verbal and written) •Ability to interact with a wide variety of people •Knowledge of the equipment, the industry, and process is preferred •Travel as required
